Swisscom answer EURO call

Swisscom will help make UEFA EURO
2008T a success (¿AFP)

Swisscom, Switzerland's leading fixed line, broadband and
mobile telecoms provider, has become the second Swiss National Supporter
for UEFA EURO 2008™.
Essential role
Swisscom will play an essential role in the running and support of UEFA
EURO 2008T, providing core telecommunications solutions and expertise
necessary to UEFA and Euro 2008 SA both before and during the event. In
addition it will offer near live coverage in Switzerland of UEFA EURO
2008T to its 4.5 million mobile customers, including video highlights,
goal clips and all the best action.

Ralph Zloczower, the Swiss Football Federation president, said: "I
am very pleased to welcome Swisscom as the second national supporter in
Switzerland. The company already supports the Swiss Football Association
and its national teams as an official sponsor and, thanks to its size
and national coverage Swisscom is an ideal sponsor for UEFA EURO 2008T."
UBS was the first National Sponsor to come on board for the co-hosts.
'High expertise'
Swisscom will have the rights to develop UEFA EURO 2008T marketing programmes
throughout Switzerland using the full range of brands, logos, and graphic
elements that represent the event, along with access to tickets and premium
hospitality packages. Carsten Schloter, Swisscom CEO, said, "Football
stands for vitality and team spirit, both are key business values of Swisscom...at
UEFA EURO 2008T we will prove our high expertise in the field of telecommunications
and new media."
Exclusive group
UEFA's National Supporter programme is creating an exclusive group of
four Swiss and four Austrian leading blue-chip companies that will make
the staging of the event possible through the services they provide. With
four National Supporters (Osterreichische Post AG and Telekom Austria
are also already on board) UEFA is well positioned to conclude the programme
in the early part of 2007.
