Luiz Felipe Scolari has revealed that he will step down as Portugal coach
after the European Championships in 2008.
The Brazilian led Portugal to the final of the European
Championships in 2004, and to the semi-finals of the World Cup in Germany
this year, though insisted the next major tournament would be his last.
"The work of a coach is limited to five or six years, and it's only
logical that I should stop after Euro 2008," he told Portuguese magazine
Record.
Scolari took over as manager of Portugal in January 2003, six months after
leading Brazil to their fifth World Cup success.
He was named to Record as Portuguese sports personality of the year for
2006.
