Former German national team manager Rudi Voller speaks about new challenges
in the Russian football.
Now he works in Bayer 04 Leverkusen as a sports director.
"Football is the favorite sport not only in Germany but also in the
whole world," said Rudi Voller to Sport Express.
"I know that Russia has a difficult situation in its Euro-2008 qyalifier."
"However I have little doubts that they will manage to qualify for
the final stage of the competition as according to their recent results
they stand gound chances to do it."
"The key factor is to win and Russia has done it by sealing a victory
over Estonia in Tallinn."
"It is obvious that the favourites of the group are Russia, England
and Croatia and they won't allow others to catch them up in the standings."
"Russia has such forward as Ivan Saenko who plays for FC Nurnberg
and can score at the veru momnt when it is mostly needed."
"And his team helps him to develop his football skills and make some
progress."
"However Bayer are not intended to buy this player as he has a contract
with his club."
"Russia is a team which can seal a victory over every opponents but
only once."
"But in order to win the World cup or European competition it's necessary
to be a whole unity and forget about any problems with communication with
each other or other contradictions."
