HIDDINK: CROATIA CLASH IS A CHALLENGE
Guus Hiddink is sure Croatia clash will be decisive in Euro-2008 qualifiers.
The manager of the national side Guus Hiddink commented on the team's
display in Andorra clash and the coming match with Croatia.
"I am glad we avoided a nerve-tickling affair in Adorra clash,"
said Hiddink to Sport Express.
"Yet it is too early to speak about our chances to qualify."
"Croatia battle will be a challenge for our young and ambitious team."
"Taking into account the way Croatia play at home some think we will
be happy to settle for a point."
"However, we are set to take three points in Zagreb."
"As for Andorra clash, I can say that the team worked extremely well
for twenty minutes after the kick-off."
"Kerzhakov showed a wonderful display as he was very dangerous and
scored three times."
"Yet I wouldn't call him an irreplaceable player for the team since
we have a number of good forwards."
"I am glad with the way Boudiansky played."
"He was very calm for a newcomer and did the job very well."
"Torbinsky deviated from the playbook in the first half but improved
in the second."
"As for Zyryanov, he worked very well in the first half but was not
concentrated enough in the second."
"However, the outcome was a foregone conclusion and he was not the
only one to lose concentration."
"Arshavin for instance blew off a nice scoring opportunity in the
second half."
"Yet he was going out of his way to help the team."
"He did not succeed in Andorra clash but he will prove his worth
in a far more important Croatia battle."
"As for Anyukov who rarely sees action in his club, I must say he
proved he deserved to wear the Russian uniform."
