Minor injuries will be dealt with outside the
Town Hall (¿Vienna)
The General Medical Council in Vienna has approved some
significant strategic measures to ensure adequate care is available for
UEFA EURO 2008T.
Medical plans
With under a year to go until the finals plans have been approved for
extra medical staff to be made available in the city, especially on the
days when UEFA EURO 2008T matches take place. There are also plans to
transfer intensive care and terminally ill patients to nursing homes for
the finals in order to free up hospital beds in the event of an emergency
at the finals.
Minor injuries
All city hospitals will have an extra three doctors on duty throughout
the tournament while scheduled operations will be reduced to ensure that
staff will be able to concentrate on emergency cases. In order to further
reduce pressure on hospital staff, minor injuries are to be treated by
the Red Cross and other organisations at the stadium and in ambulances
at the Fan Zone in the Town Hall square.
