The Russian Football Premier Liga meeting lasted four hours
and a whole range of different problems were tackled at the encounter.
CSKA president Evgeniy Giner spoke to Sport Express about the issues addressed.
"We discussed the schedule for the next season, amendments to the
regulations of cup tournaments and the reserves championships," said
Evgeniy Giner.
"We also touched upon the mass media problem which is high on the
agenda now."
"It is very important to give an unbiased view on football and not
to throw mud on it."
"We can't kill our football, we should promote it, we should laud
it."
"I think mass media will also profit if football in Russia progresses
as it will enlarge the audience."
"We clinched UEFA Cup, for instance, it is essential to remind people
that a Russian team made it, it is not only CSKA's win."
"The English mass media never humiliate their Premier League, they
never insult players or managers."
"We also tackled the problem of broadacsting."
"Some think that if a public channel broadcasts football then fewer
supporters will go to stadiums."
"This is nonsense as those who go to stadiums will go to stadiums
even if all the public channels broadcast the match."
"I think we have to follow the example set by Germany, Italy, Spain
or England: there are TV programmes where you can see the most dangerous
scoring attempts, learn the score etc."
