Sevilla former striker joined the Moscow club in winter break and is set to impress the Russian national team coaches ahead of Euro-2008.

"I started thinking about leaving Sevilla far before Huande Ramos's quit", said Kerzhakov to Sport Express.

"I didn't see so much practice as I used to have at the beginning of my career in the Spanish club and I didn't want to be the third forward in the team."

"The newly-appointed manager Manolo Jimenez let me know that I was to stay in reserve as Frederic Kanoute and Luis Fabiano were his favorite strikers."

"It seemed to be impossible to change the situation as these forwards are really of high level and they met the coach's expectations."

"I was sure in myself when I decided to switch to Sevilla, I wanted to try myself in a foreign championship which occupies the leading positions in Europe along with England's one."

"If a player has an opportunity to play abroad he should take advantage from it."

"Though it's hard to assess Russian internationals, I am sure there are enough players who are no less stronger than those who perform in the leading European championships."

"An opportunity to see constant practice gives a player a chance to be picked by the national team coaching staff."

"I liked the way Dynamo held talks with my agents and me and I was pleased to work with my former partner Andrei Kobelev again."

"It's obvious that Spanish club who reached the Champions League eightfinals is much stronger than Moscow team, but I liked the way of things in Dynamo."
