Roman Pavlyuchenko shares his feelings after sealing Euro-2008 bronze
medal.
Russian forward, who shares the second place in best scorers'
list with three goals, admitted that Spain played better in semifinal
clash against Russia.
"Spaniards were much stronger in semifinal, as well as in our group
stage meeting", said Pavlyuchenko to Sport Express.
"Maybe our tiredness also played a vital role in the game. We looked
rather good in the first half, but back from the lockers we failed to
impose our football to the opponents."
"Spanish coach threw to the battle such players as Cesc Fabregas
and Xabi Alonso, who managed to keep their side ahead."
"I can say for sure that we were not afraid of Spanish team, but
maybe lack of experience and their skills played vital role in the match."
"Almost nobody believed in the Russian national team, they said we
wouldn't even qualify from the group, but we did it!"
"We surprisingly achieved surprising success and I think we did it
mostly because we were a big family."
"We have been training and playing together for more than a month
and we became a real team."
