Andrei Arshavin was sidelined as Zenit hosted FC Tom on Premier Liga
Matchday 12.
Russian national hero Andrei Arshavin was out of action
while St. Petersburg club outblasted FC Tom 5-1.
Viktor Faizulin and Anatoly Tymoschuk made a double, while Roman Shirokov
scored once for the hosts with Michkov replied for Tom from penalty spot.
"I was sidelined at this match", said Arshavin to Sport Express.
"Dick Advocaat said that I am busy with other thoughts, which are
not connected with the club matters, so it's better to make a break to
settle the things concerning my contract."
"I am hopeful it will happen in the coming two weeks."
"As for the game itself, I liked it very much. My partners got pleasure
from playing football, played emotionally and they succeeded in many aspects
of the game."
"They smashed Tom defence, and I think they could have scored more
than five goals."
"The atmosphere in the team is perfect, players are hungry for victories
so results are coming."
"Fatih Tekke, for example, is one of the best during the trainings,
but he failed to fire in a goal behind Tom goalkeeper. At the same time
I am sure he will score in the coming games."
"I also watched Dynamo-CSKA face-to-face clash. It was very interesting
and breath-taking as Russian internationals Semshov, Zhirkov and Kolodin
played the first violin."
"I suppose that atmosphere in CSKA leaves much to be desired, however
they keep among the main title-contenders."
"Dynamo impressed with performance and looked much fresher than their
city rivals."
