Slaven Koprivnica turned to be a tremendous challenge for
CSKA, who were very fortunate to edge them to 2-1 defeat in away game.
The home side put themselves ahead two minutes before the interval and
maintained their lead almost for the whole second half.
Slaven produced a stunning performance back from the lockers with near
perfect discipline, and CSKA managed to clinch the victory only through
efforts of Brazilian striker Vagner Love at the end of the match.
"My work is staying firm in CSKA goal and I have nothing else to
think about during the match," said Akinfeev to Sport Express. "When
you begin thinking about something else, it always has negative impact
on your performance and the team's results."
"The home side had several perfect opportunities, but we fought them
back."
"The first half of this match was awful as we had no chances to score.
I would like to thank our fans who came to Koprivnica to support us. I
just made sure one more time that these people are faithful to the team."
"I don't divide games in important and unimportant ones since I want
to win everything. Slaven turned to be a good team which demonstrates
brilliant football. We have no right to relax as Croatian side could give
us a surprise."
