AGAINST REAL MADRID IN GOLDEN T-SHIRTS?
Players turned out to be unaware why Zenit was wearing golden T-shirts
in the match against Lokomotiv and who was the author of the idea. They
say that when they have come to the changing-rooms in Lokomotiv Stadium
the outfit was already there. And Zenit used to wear this outfit only
in the moments of fame - the Russian championship, UEFA Cup, Super Cup.

Maybe somebody from the managing staff decided to celebrate
the birthday of the head coach of Zenit, Dick Advocaat? Or to uplift the
spirits of the players after two losses - in the games against Juventus
and CSKA?
Lokomotiv vs. Zenit - 0:3 (0:1)
The history is dumb on the fact whether all this influenced the spirits
of the team including the fact that the head coach of Zenit was invited
to the Russian Prime Minister, Vladimir Putin on the day of the game.
But that is the fact that in the match where losers are almost definitely
drop out of the medal race Zenit put themselves together and in an away
match they did not just outplay or overwhelmed Lokomotiv. The words 'abase'
and 'tread down' are more suitable. Even the most tolerant in his evaluations
Guus Hiddink named this match - a game in one goal. The whole problem
of Lokomotiv seemed to be that there is no team spirit on the field. Young
Glushakov from Loko side are said to have snarled at the more experienced
players giving him advice. (It is possible though that the advice was
not good, but that is a lame excuse).
And Zenit seemed not to play his best game, and they even did not need
this, they looked much stronger. That resulted in the first in the history
overwhelming victory of Zenit over Lokomotiv in the away match. Fajzulin
scored the first goal, then Puygrenier and Dominguez. For the newcomer
of Zenit Pyugrenier it was the first goal in the Russian championship.
Rubin vs. FC Moskva - 0:1 (0:1)
The only goal was scored by Brakamonte at the end of the first half. And
that resulted in the first victory for FC Moskva in Kazan. The citizens
have blemished the road to championship winning for the Kazan club.
Krylya Sovetov vs. Dynamo - 3:3 (1:2)
The match was very spectacular. The most efficient match of the Matchday.
Dynamo played the way they were expected to play, though the leaders of
the team - Kerzhakov, Khokhlov and Genkov - missed it out because of the
injures. Tanasijevic and Smolov scored once each in the first half and
that seemed to be the score before the break but Bober closed the gap
to one goal. The second half was no less fruitful. Koller put on two goals
and five minutes before the main time brought Krylya to the lead.
CSKA vs. Tom - 2:1 (0:1)
One of the heroes of the match not for the first time was Alan Dzagoev
who scored an essential free kick and equalized after fifty minutes of
difficult game. Thus CSKA calmed down and after only five minutes Aldonin
scored the second goal.
Shinnik vs. Spartak - 1:2 (0:2)
The match should not have been difficult for the Moscow club, as they
have not lost to the club from Yaroslavl for twenty matches in a row [including
the Saturday's victory]. But considering the current situation in Spartak
not many people would risk betting on them. But the head coach of the
Red and White was surer about his team, and after the match said that
he was glad with the game and the result. Spartak's men Rodriguez and
Fathi scored once each in the first half. The Spartak supporters raged
on the stands, burned crackers and several time envaded the field. And
due to this the referee had to add 10 (!) minutes to the first half and
then 6 to the second. Monarev was the only scorer of the hosts. But Wilkshire
saves the team from the loss and let in a penalty on the last (fifth)
minute of the extra time.
Saturn vs. Amkar - 0:0
For Amkar it was a very important match, as having won they would regain
number two in the season's table. Though the match ended up with a nil
draw bringing one point to both teams.
Spartak Nalchik vs. Luch-Energia - 2:2 (0:0)
The match turned to be very effective, though Spartak was very upset at
the fact that they let in a goal at the very end of the match. Luch looked
very impressive in the match, they had enough will to equalize twice during
the match and end up the game with a draw. The first to score was Kisenkov
with a free kick. Shevchenko equalized after ten minutes of struggling.
Damyanovic answered Kalimullin's goal on the 89th minute.
Terek vs. Khimki - 1:0 (0:0)
The first goal was scored by Buli in the middle of the second half, and
it remained the only goal despite all the efforts of the visiting side
to equalize.
