When the Montenegrin football specialist replaced Rashid
Rakhimov at the post of Amkar head coach, a few people were sure he would
manage to put the team on the rails and achieve some serious result in
his first season at the helm of the club. All doubts have been dispersed
when Perm club finished Premier League title race on the fourth place
and secured UEFA Cup berth.
"Since my first days of this season I had to think only about football
and preparation for crunch games", said Bozovic to Sport Express.
"Now I can finally think about return to my homeland and rest".
"Results of the last matches were highly important for Amkar and
of course I was too nervous. I wanted very much to occupy the place, which
our players deserved by their performance and professional attitude to
the game".
"I am very happy with my first season in Russia, but I suppose that
it will be very difficult to repeat this result again. Zenit, Lokomotiv
and Spartak, who finished behind Amkar, won't excuse us and will apply
all their efforts to push us aside. And they have perfect opportunity
to improve their positions".
"I have living in Russia for a year already, and I had nothing to
complain of this country. At first I was living in Perm hotel New Star
and then I moved to a good apartment".
"During the last match of the season against Khimki our supporters
screamed 'Bozovic! Bozovic!' and I had fantastic feelings in that moment.
I couldn't believe that our fans liked me so much! I was really exited
with how our supporters thanked the team for our performance at the last
match on November 22 and said farewell to the best player in Amkar history
Konstantin Paramonov, who finished his professional career. I will never
forger that evening".
"Level of the Russian championship is very high and I liked it first
of all. I liked that every match was very challenging for Amkar, because
I like overcoming obstacles. I didn't like far flights for the games and
quality of football pitches in major part of Russian cities. I cannot
understand why it's impossible to bring them to the normal state".
