TIKHONOV: CAN GIVE ME A FOUR PLUS FOR THE SEASON
The captain of Krylya Sovetov Andrei Tikhonov was announced best veteran-player
(not younger than 33 at the beginning of the championship) of the season.

The last season became 17th for the 38-year old midfielder
but still no one has the heart to call him a veteran.
"The title best veteran means nothing for me," said Tikhonov.
"I am skeptical about such nominations. I can understand best player
or best midfielder, but I do not care much about the title best veteran."
"I have no tricks to keep in good form for so many years. I think
if a person has no health problems and is skillful than he can play for
quite a long time."
"We should have played better this season. Though we fulfilled the
task and finished in the six, but I think we could have been higher."
"I performed ok and can give me a four plus, as I have scored seven
goals and made seven assists."
"Leonid Slutsky is a good coach, we work fruitfully together. He
managed to create a wonderful atmosphere in the team. We get on very well
together and I can speak only good of him."
"Jiri Jarosik and Jan Koller are very good guys with easy characters.
One can joke with them but their work they do with much responsibility."
"I do not think that Koller was the engine of our success, but when
you buy such a good forward it is evident you are to change your playing
schemes accordingly."
"My contract is expiring and I had no official talk to the management
yet. Though I was asked whether I keep on playing. And hope that everything
will be settled during the holidays."
"If I continue playing football I wish my team to get a higher place
next season."
