It's hard to argue that CSKA midfielder and Russian national team international Alan Dzagoev became the best new young player of Premier League-2008 campaign. Besides Alan collected a perfect run of games in domestic championship, he also shone at the international arena.

"I know that Sport Express gave players their marks after Premier League games," said Dzagoev. "And I know that I was on the fourth position in the final standings, while I could have finished on the third place. To my mind it's a very good result for the beginning. Though the team's figures interest me more than my personal achievements. CSKA had a perfect season, and it's the main thing."

"If I need to give my personal marks to players, I would give the first place to my partner Yuri Zhirkov. Yuri played the whole season on a very high level, and he constantly threatened our opponents' goal."

"Brazilian star Vagner Love is the second in my rankings. He scored twenty goals this season, that is a rare thing in our championship."

"And finally the third place goes to Sergei Ignashevich. To my mind he is the best Russian defender, who can play in any European club."

"Danny and Andrei Arshavin are two best players from other teams. I will also lay special mention to Glushakov, who became a first-choice player in Lokomotiv. He is my friend and I am very happy for him."

"This season was very successful for me too, because I squeezed to CSKA starting eleven, played for the national team and showed my best in the UEFA Cup. The main target for today is continuing demonstrating the same results. I need to prove every day that I deserve playing at such high level."

"I don't consider myself as experienced footballer, so I need to work harder. You can leave the team when you feel that you surpassed the Russian championship, while I still have enough room for improvement."

"I think CSKA is really my team. I like everything there, and it's not accidental that I improved my football there. I want to keep on playing in CSKA in future."
