NATIONAL TEAM LEADER VOTING STARTED YESTERDAY

Russian veterans.

The first stage on determining the winner of Sport Express'
award The National team leader finished yesterday, as around fifty veterans
of national football gave their votes.
Yuri Zhirkov got 20 votes to finish on the first place. CSKA playmaker
left behind his teammate Igor Akinfeev (13 votes) and Andrei Arshavin
(10 points), who were second and the third respectively.
Sergei Semak got five points, Roman Pavlyuchenko received two votes, while
Konstantin Zyryanov was the only player to get no points.
The second and the third stages will be held soon, as Sport Express supporters
and journalists will give their votes for their favourites.
