elected best coach of the year.

"Christmas and New Year are inseparable for
me," began Guus. "During these holidays I have time for conversations
with my relatives and friends. Sport of the highest achievements is not
always good both physically and morally."
"Having reached your goals you stop noticing the surrounding world
and become selfish. So it is good when there are people who can wake you
up. Before the New Year you have an opportunity to see these people oftener."
"This year as in the previous ones I am going to Africa, in Uganda
and Tanzania in particular. But this time I am going not only with my
wife but also with my two younger brothers and their wives."
"I have traveled a lot and decided that it is not a bad idea to show
my family something new. They are leaving Europe for the first time in
their lives. You can hardly imagine hoe they are excited: they phone constantly
and ask what vaccinations do they need and what clothes should take."
"I like everything exotic. That is why I worked in such countries
as Korea, Australia or Russia. I like to find myself in new environments.
For me curiosity is a stimulus."
To go to a new region, discover a new culture for me, see how people live
and work, and make it possible what was considered impossible."
"I prefer to do and then regret it, than do not do and regret. And
by the way I have never been disappointed yet. Though there are difficulties
but it is also a pleasure for me to overcome them."
"As I was a child I always wanted to learn something new. And my
grandfather told me not to go to school. And I missed school and we went
somewhere together for hunting for example. And for me such travels were
like a revelation, like discovery of a new world. My traveling now is
in fact the same as my journeys with the granddad though on a larger scale."
"I understand that I should not say that it is impossible to win
the World championship 2010. But we should be realistic as it is December
2008. And we have at first get through the qualification to this tournament
in our difficult group."
