Spartak ex-captain Egor Titov signed a two-year contract
with Lokomotiv from Kazakhstan yesterday. He will rejoin with his former
partner Andrei Tikhonov. Before joining his new club on training session
in Turkey Titov spoke to Sport Express.
"All problems, which bothered me during last three months, are already
over and I can concentrate on football", said Titov. "This period
was very hard for my family and me, because Khimki's arrears of my salary
and uncertainty about my future bothered me much. Now I know what my life
will be and I am absolutely calm about it".
"I usually try not to tell my family and friends about my football
problems, but this time everything was seen and everybody felt it. I would
like to thank Vagiz Khidiyatullin and ProSports Management specialists
for their professional help".
"I don't think that players should finish their career at 33. I still
have a huge desire to play football".
"You can ask why I decided to accept Lokomotiv offer, but the answer
would be very simple. I will play with my friend Andrei Tikhonov after
nine years of break".
"We have serious targets in Lokomotiv, as we are set to win all competitions
in Kazakhstan and earn a spot in European tournaments. I want to thank
Lokomotiv boss Daniyar Khasenov, who held talks with me. If the club's
president holds talks with a player, it can't but make happy any player".
"Daniyar told us about his plans, he said that he bought Khakhstan's
best players for Lokomotiv".
"I liked Lokomotiv representatives' honesty. I met with them several
times and they always asked me a lot of questions".
"They told me about their desire to acquire Andrei Tikhonov and Sergei
Yuran, and it was very important factor for me".
"My contract with Lokomotiv is designed for two years. I am set to
play there until the end of the deal, however my experience shows that
even when you have a running contract, you can't plan anything. I also
had a two-year deal with Khimki, but I had to quit the club. I hope that
my career in Kazakhstan will be more stable".
"People can't do without money, however financial factor was not
the most significant in my decision to move to Astana".
"I had a running contract with Khimki, and maybe managers of other
teams thought there was no sense in talking with the player in this situation.
Kazakhstan was the first to know about my problems".
