Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger announced yesterday that
Andrei Arshavin would make his Premier League debut today. Sport Express
correspondent called Russian striker to know what he thinks about it.
"It's up to the head coach to decide whether I can make Arsenal debut
today or not", said Arshavin. "If he thinks it's necessary to
let me play from the start of the match or as a substitution, I will be
very glad. But Wenger is the only person to decide it, while my job is
to prove that I am ready to play".
"My trainings were mostly individual, because the team prepared for
the matches, while I had no right to take part in them. Everything is
ok now, but you should understand that playing football is always much
better than training".
"My partners understand that it's hard to get used to new life for
me, since I don't know French and have little knowledge in the English
language. That's why everybody tries to help me".
"But speaking about everyday life, I start it from the very beginning,
because I have an absolutely new life, new language, new partners and
other details. So I need to get used to it, especially when I am alone
without my own accommodation and car".
"My English friends help me a lot, trying to amuse me, to go out
to the restaurant or some other place. But I try not to bother them much".
"I watched Zenit vs. Stuttgart match in Internet, as I didn't have
any other opportunity to do it. Timoschuk scored a really fantastic goal!
I hope that 2-1 is enough result ahead of return game in Germany".
"I managed to watch CSKA's match against Aston Villa, and Army men
impressed me very much. Vagner Love would be a perfect acquisition for
any European top-club".
"I am satisfied with my new football life in England, but I can't
the same thing about my everyday life. I get used to it gradually, though
I need much time for full adaptation. I think when my family comes to
me, it will be much easier".
