The Saturday Super Cup match will be the first full-fledged
game under the auspices of the RFPL for CSKA 17-year-old youngster Georgy
Schennikov.
Georgy Schennikov made a brilliant debut at international arena in the
battle against Aston Villa and proved he is worth a place in the starting
eleven. "Of course it's pleasant to hear complimentary words about
my performance", said Schennikov to Sport Express. "I am not
going to relax, because in this case it's very easy to find yourself on
the bench".
"The coming meeting with Rubin in the fight for the Russian Super
Cup will stand out as a chance to win the first trophy in my career".
"I can't get rid of pre-match nervousness, however when I come out
to the pitch it disappears immediately".
"Rubin won Premier League trophy last year and they were the most
stable team among other participants of the Russian championship. CSKA
also looked very strong, but Rubin won the title beforehand".
"New season in Russia will kick off with tomorrow Super Cup. I am
sure that the stadium will be full with our supporters".
Rubin defender Cesar Navas will make his debut for the Russian defending
champions tomorrow. "I am a little bit nervous ahead of this match,
but it's natural, because it will be difficult", said Navas.
"I didn't know that it will be held on artificial surface. In Spain
many clubs train on such pitches, when the weather is bad, so I suppose
I will get used to it quickly".
"We respect CSKA and their professionalism, but players and coaches
shouldn't be busy with guesswork. It's up to the journalists to talk about
teams' chances to win the clash".
