The Russian played no part in Tottenham's 2-1 victory over
Aston Villa and so was asked to appear in the club's reserve team fixture
against Chelsea the following day.
However, Pavlyuchenko remains confident that his relegation to the second
string is only a temporary one.
The Russian, despite scoring 13 goals in all competitions for the club
this season, has struggled to fully settle at White Hart Lane and watched
as Darren Bent scored in the Villa Park victory.
'My friends told me about information about my relegation to the reserves,'
Pavlyuchenko said.
'It doesn't correspond to reality at all. I really played for the reserve
team along with several players who didn't take part in the match with
Aston Villa and it was necessary to get playing practice.
'However, it doesn't mean I will play in the reserves on a regular basis.
I will keep on training with the first team.'
Jermaine Jenas, who scored the club's other goal at Villa Park, praised
Bent for his efforts.
'Apart from Darren's goal, his all-round work, hustling and bustling,
winning headers, getting crosses in, chasing back, was magnificent at
Aston Villa,' said Jenas.
'I don't know many players that aren't confidence players. With strikers,
goals breed confidence, games breed confidence. It is all part of football.'
