Alexandr Borodyuk, coach of the Russian football
national team: "Four wonderful of Andrei at the Enfield Road could
not but pleased the coaching staff of the national team. He strived to
show himself at the highest level and now he proves with his game that
his decision to leave for England was right. Performing well in the English
Premier League Arshavin upholds the honour of the Russian football and
we wish him new achievements."
Dick Advocaat, head coach of Zenit: "I saw this match and
to tell the truth I liked the game. What concerns four goals of Arshavin
than no comment is necessary, as they can speak for themselves."
Arsene Wenger, head coach of Arsenal: "Arshavin showed a wonderful
game! I saw a lot in my coaching career and believe me that not every
player can score four goals in one match. Arshavin as well as all great
footballers can play on every position. He has a winner's spirit. I did
not expect such vim from him."
Vladislav Radimov, former defender of the Russian national team,
Zenit's team head: "I spoke to Andrei today and he is very adequate
about the situation. He said that goals are good but he must still improve.
And I thought that if it will really happen than what would happen with
the English Premier League?! If they let Andrei play such football than
he will become such a scorer in England Cristiano Ronaldo never dreamt
of. Nobody would stop him."
Alexandr Kerzhakov, forward of Dynamo Moscow: "What can be
said about it? That nothing happened before that a Russian player scored
four goals in one match of one of the leading European championships especially
in the English Premier League, especially against Liverpool, especially
on the road. This is a great achievement that causes admiration."
"And I am especially pleased that he is not only my compatriot but
the player with whom I played in one team for a long time. Arshavin proved
that Russian players can play at the highest level and his example should
inspire other Russian footballers who are going to Europe. I hope to play
in Europe myself."
Gennady Orlov, TV commentator: "When Andrei played in Zenit,
I was often reproached that I speak too much about him in my reports and
that I forgive him a lot. And now I am prone to think that there were
no players of such level either in Russia or in the USSR. And I am sure
he is capable of more than this - if there are players of the same class
around."
"Judging from the match against Liverpool Andrei is higher than his
current teammates. He scored mostly because of his personal qualities.
And he also proved than in our country football talents can be born. We
just don't believe in ourselves. And he believed - and was right."
