Oh no what have I done? Pavlyuchenko is struggling
at Spurs

Roman Pavlyuchenko will never adapt to Tottenham's style
of play and has no future at the club.
That's the view of the Russian's former manager at Spartak Moscow Oleg
Romantsev who feels the striker might have been better off joining Arsenal
instead.
Romantsev, who also coached the Russian national side, believes the 'powerhouse'
approach employed by Harry Redknapp's side will never suit Pavlyuchenko's
'technical game' and that ex-Spartak team-mate Andriy Arshavin made the
correct choice by signing for the Gunners.
Romantsev said: 'I was never against my players' moves into European premier
leagues - but for me the most important thing was that they went to the
right teams for them.
'I wish Pavlyuchenko had talked to me before his move to London. It is
going to be very hard for him at Tottenham. That team is not for him.
'They play a powerhouse sort of football with a lot of crosses and tussling
for the ball. I don't mean they play badly - such football is liked by
many people. But Pavlyuchenko is more used to a technical game.'
Romantsev, who plucked Pavlyuchenko from obscurity at Rotor Volgograd
by signing him for Spartak in 2002, might not even fit with Redknapp's
long-term plans and might not have any choice but to leave.
He added: 'Tottenham also have three other classy forwards who are better
adapted to such football. I'm worried about Roman but still hope he's
going to make it back into the starting line-up.
'Arsenal's football style is much closer to that of Spartak. They play
a very technical game with a lot of fast, short or medium range passing
and inventive, unorthodox moves.
'In this sense Arshavin was luckier with his choice of an English team.'
