Yuri Zhirkov got the highest mark from Sport Express to
become the best player of CSKA vs. Zenit battle.
In the Sunday CSKA vs. Zenit eyecatcher the hosts' midfielder Yuri Zhirkov
received the highest mark (7,0) in the match from Sport Express. After
the game he shared his opinion with our correspondent.
This match was the most attractive not only because it was a fight of
two leaders of the Russian football, but also because Russian internationals
had to play against each other. "Those players, who have been playing
for a long time, know their Premier League opponents very well, not only
the Russian national side players", said Zhirkov.
"It's always more interesting to play against Russian internationals.
On one hand it's very pleasant to play against Anyukov, Zyryanov and Denisov,
but on the other hand it's challenging, since they play wonderfully and
know all our habits very well".
"Zenit is the strongest opponent for us in the Russian championship
and that's why we really didn't hurry in attack at the beginning of the
match. I can say that we even played defensive football".
"I assisted to Maazou when he opened the score. When you come up
against two or three defenders, first of all you should believe that you
would succeed. In such crucial games like this one, one successful attempt
could surpass all failures".
"Maazou is striker and perfectly understands such episodes. And if
he scores, it means that he is helpful to the team".
"CSKA was 2:0 ahead of Dynamo in the Russian Cup semifinal, but the
match ended in 2:2 draw. And if it was Premier League game, it would have
been a pity to lose points".
"We have no right to relax while playing with such opponent as Zenit
even if we lead the game 2:0. You can save your advantage only when you
are fully concentrated until the final whistle".
"We are sick and tired of being on the second and third positions.
CSKA is always fighting for the first place! "
"On the other hand level of Russian clubs is almost equal nowadays,
and even leaders can lose points. Of course, we will try to become an
exception from this rule".

Anyukov and Zyryanov proved that they are leading players of the Russian

"Russia will play against Finland, but all our thoughts are connected
with the championship. However we talked to Anyukov and he reminded me
