"After the Russian Cup final with Rubin I went to
Kaliningrad where I spend time with pleasure," said the midfielder
of CSKA. "It is very nice here and calmly and moreover the weather
is wonderful."
"The Russian Cup final took away most of my energy but I managed
to restore already. On Wednesday I am flying to Moscow to arrive to the
national team by the evening."
"I will be very glad to communicate with the teammates and Guus Hiddink."
"Our head coach will definitely tell us about his working days in
Chelsea. By the way when Hiddink headed the English club the team got
a new look. They had many spectacular matches and last Saturday they won
the English Cup."
"You think I am very much interested to learn what is on in Chelsea
after all these rumors about my going to London. Believe me I know no
more about it that any other people."
"I read newspapers, listen to the radio and get really surprised
because there is no actual offer from Chelsea. If it had been different
the Londoners would turn to CSKA and my club would definitely let me know."
"Of course the question is about one of the strongest clubs in the
world that regularly performs at the highest level."
"It is quite possible that I would say 'yes' if Chelsea really offered
me a contract. But before I did it I would weigh all pros and contras."
"Chelsea has a really strong squad and every player of the team have
to endure a tough competition. I don't like the prospect of sitting on
the bench and playing only occasionally even in Chelsea."
"Moreover I have something I can lose, for CSKA now is a very interesting
team that starts its performance in the Champions League this autumn."
"However we are talking about an option that does not really exist
at the moment. If a big club wanted to see me among its men I would gladly
discuss this question but now I am preparing for the coming match in Finland
and try not stuff my head with other things."
"The national team does not perform a lot and that is why every official
match is important. Moreover the situation in the group does not allow
us to lose points."
"Germany tied the match in Helsinki last autumn but a draw won't
suit us. We need only victory for we want to compete for the first place
in the group."
"I don't think the match will be like the one in Moscow [Russia won
3:0]. Finns will show a different kind of football on their home turf.
They will play more confidently and aggressively."
"Finland has a well-balanced squad. We had not easy in Moscow but
we managed to use our moments well."
"There are players in the Finnish team that play for best European
championships. And of course we know brothers Eremenko best of all."
"We have no right for a mistake everything is bent to achieving result.
I am not sure that in Helsinki teams will show open football. More likely
on the contrary, for the result of the match is very important for both
teams."
"So I don't think you will see a spectacular show. Most important
is to win with any score with any kind of game."
