Zenit midfielder Konstantin Zyryanov eyes the coming qualifying
game against Finland.
Despite six points earned by Russia in matches against Azerbaijan and
Liechtenstein the national team's performance didn't impress experts and
fans much.
"I agree that we didn't show beautiful football in spring matches",
said Zyryanov to Sport Express. "We have been criticized for is,
but I treat critics calmly, because the figures on the scoreboard are
more important in football".
"We need to escape losses ahead of our Moscow game with Germany.
We just need to earn points by all possible means. Even if we seal 1-0
victories, it would be great".
"We will analyze Finnish team's peculiarities soon. Of course we
will watch their game against Germany and their away match with Wales.
Frankly speaking I didn't expect them to win three points in Wales".
"It's evidently that this team deserves our respect. The Wednesday
match will be very tough".
"To my mind we shouldn't recall our past success, when we beat Finland
3-9 in Moscow. The result shouldn't deceive us".
"Getting back to Zenit's matters, we really suffered a bad run of
games in May, but I have no doubts that everything would be all right
soon".
"We survived losses to CSKA, Dynamo and Rostov, but on the other
hand we earned points at home stands. In the previous game against Kuban
we played very well even without Danny and Tymoschuk".
