"I have been playing football for a year and a half
without a break," said the Russian forward. "And it is not over
yet. The last and a most important game for me will take place in Helsinki
on 10 June."
"I feel it not difficult to prepare for the match, it is my work
after all and moreover I like it."
"I have a great emotional desire to end up the season handsomely.
And only then I can rest: there will be almost a month left till the first
training camp of Tottenham. And after all I will have enough time to lie
on a sofa when I retire from football."
"After a long and difficult season all the emotions are drained of
its content and the only dope for the game in this situation is this crest
on the jersey."
"Probably it sounds a bit pompously but it is true. We understand
how many supporters in Russia are expecting a good play from us and that
acts better than any dope."
"After nine months in London I returned back to Russia and felt that
the attitude of people had not changed. Only my own emotions are sharper,
home is home after all. Though I have two homes now."
"I did not take part in the home game against Finland and saw it
on TV. The match was very intense till the end."
"And it got stuck in my memory because of two own goals. Both of
them were result of a pressure of our team against Finns. And I agree
with Hiddink that an own goal means that its author was forced to make
this mistake so he was outplayed."
"The Russian team had a tangible advantage throughout the whole match
and as a result we achieved what we needed."
"In Helsinki I think the game will be different. It is always harder
on the road than at home - a football axiom."
"And there we will see what we are worth of. By the way I hope that
a lot of Russians will manage to get to the Finnish capital - that would
be a great support."
"The match is going to be difficult: at the moment everybody learnt
how to play football and Finns have never been easy opponents. But we
need a victory for love or money."
"One must always think about the first place, if one let the level
go down he can lose the second place."
"We are going to Helsinki to get three points and don't even think
about a draw though it is not the worst variant for us."
"It does not matter much for me who will be my partners. The coaching
staff analyze advantages and disadvantages of the opponent and determine
the best possible squad and scheme of the play."
"And if I am in the line-up I will be happy to play with any teammates.
But I should first of all get into the starting eleven myself."
"Of course there are differences whether my partner is big or small
and agile. But that leads only to a small change of tasks for the game.
And I am to carry out any of them."
