Alan Dzagoev became the main new star of Premier League
previous season and made a convincing start to the current championship.
He fell out of action with an injury at the beginning of May and lost
a place in the starting eleven. Having fully recovered several weeks later
he has never been capped to the starting lineup since then.
Sport Express correspondent asked the player how he endures this tough
period of his career.
"Loss of a place in the starting lineup came as a real surprise to
me", said Dzagoev. "I won't hide that I took it very hard".
"I always try to prove that I deserve a place in the roster but I
couldn't distract myself from sad thoughts. I always analyzed the situation
and tried to understand why it happened to me. That is why our current
vacation was very helpful for me".
"Someone can treat this situation calmly, but not me. I am used to
playing in the starting lineup since my childhood".
"I know about rumors that I could move to another club, however I
have never thought about it. I like playing in CSKA and I am not going
to leave it".
"I started my vacations at my home city and visited my brother Gela
who is 21-year-old. He also plays football and he will join KAMAZ in July".
"In my childhood we thought that Gela is more ambitious than me.
I am sure that his career will be successful".
"People say that the hardest thing for a young player is his second
season in big football. To be honest I didn't feel it since I made a good
start to the season. I scored three goals and added three assists so everything
was all right".
"Yuri Zhirkov is likely to leave CSKA for Chelsea soon. I have no
doubts that he will achieve success in London because he has everything
necessary to play in the European top-club".
"For CSKA it will be a big loss, since Zhirkov is the key figure
in our team. But players don't get offers to play on a high level every
day and Yuri should use it".
"I missed the Russian first team's roster for the World Cup qualifier
against Finland because I had no playing practice in CSKA. Coaches cap
only those players who have constant playing practice in their clubs".
"Instead of it I played for our youth national team against Faroe
Islands as we suffered a loss. Of course we can blame the first conceded
goal because we didn't expect that the game would start this way".
"After that we tried to fight back and created many scoring opportunities,
but our opponents played wonderfully in defence".
