Pavel Pogrebnyak, who switched to Stuttgart last week, made
his debut in the German championship. He spoke to Sport Express correspondent
right after the match with Wolfsburg (0:2).
"Despite our loss I have fantastic impressions", said Pogrebnyak.
"I liked the stadium, atmosphere, quality of pitch and our supporters'
behavior but anyway it was unpleasant to lose".
"I think that I was not so tired in Russian championship. I was little
bit tired at the end of the match but I can say that I felt all right".
"To my mind it was a good game for the beginning of the new season".
"After my pass it might have seemed that Khedira's header reached
the target. It's difficult for me to say because I didn't see this episode.
Of course we wanted to influence the referee's decision but he insisted
that the ball didn't cross the touchline. It's pity since it could have
become my first successful assist".
"I had a perfect mindset for this match and my partners fed me with
balls however I didn't score. In general I have wonderful teammates, I
think that when Hleb returns to his peak form everything will be even
better".
"If I am not mistaken the referee didn't punish anyone with yellow
cards at all. He worked well as he let players play, and I liked it too".
"I understood Cacau and Marika quite well for the first game, especially
before the interval. I got tired closer to the end of the match and it
was not easy to find a common language with them".
"I communicate with my partners in English and I learn German words.
When I pass more time here I will know the language much better".
