| SEMIN: I WOULD NOT DISCUSS MY PREDECESSORS
The head coach of the Railwaymen Yuriy Semin
commented on the situation in Lokomotiv after three consecutive victories
in August.

"CSKA played very powerfully against us," said
Semin about the last match. "I think that the Army men probably had
one of their best games this season."
"But nevertheless we won and this fact should add more self-confidence
to our team that we are capable of outplaying every team."
"I don't want to talk about the series of victories I can comment
on the quality of the game."
"For example in the match against Dynamo we failed to win but played
much better than in three following games."
"And I think that this match was best for Lokomotiv this season.
It was sound and we created a lot of moment."
"If estimate opponents than I can say that CSKA showed the strongest
game against us."
"I don't want to discuss the work of the predecessors, I can only
say that I have with what I can compare. In the level of preparedness
including functional Lokomotiv was inferior to Dynamo Kyiv."
"It is my own opinion that Boris Ignatiev also shares and he used
to work in Kyiv as well."
"My transfer from one club to Moscow lasted not a month but a week
and I remembered very well the state of the players. And believe me the
difference was great."
"And that was one of the reasons why I invited the fitness coach
Vincenzo Pincolini from Dynamo to Lokomotiv. In principle any club needs
good specialists. And this is true to players as well - both Russian and
foreigners."
"In this case Kobelev is right saying that it is better to purchase
nobody than purchase anybody."
"But if you have a chance to invite a well-heeled personality (and
Pincolini is significant in European football) than you should use it
and don't spare effort."
"The Italian will first of all focus on the main team but he will
also pay attention to those players going to join the main team as well
as on the promising players from reserves."
"The youth will accomplish a certain programme oа functional and
athletic training so that they come to the main team more developed than
after sports school."
"Moreover inviting Pincolini we had in mind the fact that our own
specialist Oleg Pashinin will adopt the experience of the Italian while
working together. Thus Pincolini will sooner or later leave but his knowledge
will remain in the club."
