| BYSTROV: COMPETE FOR CHAMPION'S TITLE
Having swapped for Zenit Vladimir Bystrov seemed
to get new energy as he scores in every match. But he had to leave the
field prematurely last weekend because of muscle problems.

"At the moment I don't feel very well," said the
midfielder. "The pain would not leave. And I will have to treat the
injury actively in the nearest days."
"This injury occurred at the training session in Tomsk before the
match. At the moment I am to undergo a medical but I hope that everything
will be ok by the match against CSKA. Zenit has wonderful doctors who
can help quickly."
"My attitude to the supporters is the same and if you want to know
theirs attitude better ask them. But it seems to me that the number of
those people supporting me is growing."
"It is not my goal to bring everybody round. My task is a bit different
- to enter the field and bring benefit to the team."
"And those people really supporting this team should estimate the
way I manage my task. Fans must understand that at the moment we have
the same objectives. Most important for us is that Zenit win."
"We were going to organize a meeting with the leaders of fan-mobs
in St. Petersburg but it fell through and I don't know the reasons. I
was ready to come and answer all their questions. I have nothing to hide
and don't want to lie."
"I used to be very emotional but now I grew up and can treat many
things calmly. I know for sure that many supporters do not know how something
was going on and they can act emotionally in such a way that after some
time they will feel ashamed of their behaviour."
"I myself did a lot of things I was ashamed of afterwards and that
is why I have no right to denounce anybody."
"Such a series of three goals in three matches is a consequence of
a good teamplay. One will never score without the help of the team without
moments created by the teammates."
"It was a hard decision to change the club. And I consulted my friends
before. Not only friends from St. Petersburg but from Moscow as well,
and everybody understood and supported me."
"I know that there is a point of view that Zenit is only playing
the season to the end waiting for a new head coach. And it is a stupid
idea. We do our best in every match and want to achieve maximum results."
"When there are still chances we are competing for the champion's
title but the Champions League zone will also be a good result I think."
"At the moment all our thoughts are about the coming matches of the
national championship and not about the match Russia vs. Germany. All
the matches are crucial especially the one against CSKA."
"There are many injures among the national team men but I think that
we have enough footballers able to replace the sidelined ones. The loss
of good players is obviously a problem but good coaches are needed to
cope with it and we have such people."
