Alan Dzagoev, who assisted to the scored goal and organized
a penalty for the Russian side, commented on the match to Sport Express.
"In general the game was harder than I had expected", said Dzagoev.
"Azeri team showed as well-organized team and played very confidently".
"Anyway we should have won three points, however we didn't convert
our scoring chances. As the result we clinched only a draw, which of course
didn't satisfy us".
"I think that our opponents really deserved this penalty kick, because
their defender brought me down and referee pointed to the spot".
"It was quite easy to find common language with Torbinsky, Bystrov
and Arshavin. Firstly we worked very hard during the trainings and secondly
they are so high-class players that they understand their partners' ideas
very easily".
"I found out that I would be a starter only before the match. To
be honest, I thought that I would be a substitution, so it was very pleasant
to hear my name in the starting list".
"It was my full-fledged debut match and I wanted to play as good
as possible. I succeeded in something, but something went not very well.
It's impossible to be 100% happy when your team didn't win the game".
"We had perfect chances to defeat Azerbaijan and must have done it.
Maybe we were not so lucky, so we will prepare for play-off matches now".
