"I think that the draw in the World Cup play-offs is
good for us," said Zahovic. "Russia has no chances and we are
going to South Africa."
"The thing is not about the fact that we play well against teams
from Eastern Europe. We won Ukraine in 2000 and did not give them a chance
to advance to Euro."
"Actually Ukraine was a very difficult opponent. And I am absolutely
sure that Shevchenko is better comparing to the main Russian star Andrey
Arshavin."
"Russia is not a football country. I saw the match yesterday CSKA
vs. Manchester United in Luzhniki. And the stands were half-empty and
that means people are not very interested in football in your country."
"Moscow is one of the largest cities in the world with the population
of more than 10 million people. And there were no enough people to fill
the stadium to watch Manchester United?"
"You would better play ice hockey! You can do it well."
"I am sure everybody in Russia has decided that Slovenia is a journey
variant so the players will be relaxed, supporters will not come to the
stadium and in the meantime we will secure us a spot in the World Cup-2010."
"And we are not abashed by the artificial turf or frosts. We must
be at the championship and we will be there just because we deserve it
more."
"Young players do not appear on the pitch in your team and we have
many talents who want and can play football well."
"So because of them and our supporters who, believe me, would have
never missed the chance to see Manchester United with their own eyes,
we must be in South Africa."
