"There were many important matches in my career but
the forthcoming game is the most important," said the forward of
Dynamo.
"Objectively judging my age and possibilities I understand that it
is my last chance to participate in the World Cup and somehow show myself.
For if a 28-year player is on the top of its capacities than a 32-year
old one is approaching his decline."
"I think we are doing everything right in the national team to prepare
for the match. The atmosphere is very favourable - everybody understands
perfectly well the significance of the clash with Slovenia but nobody
is putting the wind up."
"Before the match against Germany I told that we were going to win
it happened that my words turned more of gasconade."
"But no words are said just for the sake of being said; they just
confirm the feelings of a person and his desire to win. Had we scored
first in that match we would have surely won."
"But having conceded we put oneself into a very difficult situation
- Germans can keep the odds as well as no one else. Nevertheless before
this game I would rather refrain from any statements."
"Of course a lot will depend on the first goal scored. But if we
show the fast football we can play everything must be good."
"To my mind there should not be any problems connected with the fact
that the season in Russia is drawing in that presupposes our tiredness."
"We have positive experience of the World Cup play-offs in November
and that proves that every problem has its solution."
"As for me I feel very well and am probably in my best form this
season. It can be explained through the week's rest I had due to my illness."
"There are smart people in our team and everybody understands what
they can lose in case of failure that the last year and a half would be
struck out."
"But that does not put us under great pressure but only gives us
additional power. Though in the day of the game our excitement can increase
but now we are calm."
