ROMANTSEV: SPARTAK IS BACK AGAIN!
Spartak's consultant-coach Oleg Romantsev summarizes
performance of Premier League silver medallists in the Russian championship.

"To my mind the team's disposition in the final standings
is not quite fair, because Spartak deserved the champions' crown more
than Rubin", Romantsev told Sport Express. "I don't want to
depreciate merits of Rubin, as this is strong team with well-balanced
lineup. Spartak had to bear with psychological pressure, which didn't
let them seal the gold medals".
"Our competitors were set to fight against Spartak as if it was the
most important match in their history. And no after the season is finished
I can say that Spartak is back again".
"My certitude is based first of all on the football shoed by the
team in major part of the season. No matter in which uniform Spartak will
play now, it will be clear that they show real Spartak's own style".
"Valeriy Karpin's team can boast high-class players, but what is
more important is that they can think on the pitch and search for non-standard
decisions of continuing their attacks. And I am very happy that they have
so many talented youngsters, that means they can be successful in future".
