Though CSKA won decisive three points in Istanbul clash,
the team was destabilized by UEFA's suspension of Alexey Berezutsky and
Sergey Ignashevich. This story couldn't but influence Alexey's brother
Vasiliy, who shares his feelings on the game with Sport Express.
"We always feel that we are both together", said Vasiliy. "I
was in awful mood on Monday when we got the news about his suspension".
"When I heard about it for the first time, I thought that it was
pure misunderstanding and I still stick to this point of view. The story
is disgusting, and I hope that everything will get a happy ending on 17
December".
"I can't imagine how to endure the news, but Alexey stood firm, while
I supported him and promised to beat Besiktas. Our defence is unimaginable
without Alexey and Sergey, but we didn't panic".
"My brother, Sergey and I understand each other perfectly, and this
time we had to be under constant pressure. But in general everything was
all right and Semberas coped with his duties well. Semberas is very wise
player and we have no doubt in his mastership".
"We didn't worry when Turkish side leveled the score, though I admit
that we were lucky to score an added-time winner. The draw would have
satisfied us taking into consideration Manchester United's convincing
victory".
"I recall how our future depended on matches of Chelsea and Arsenal
and they didn't help us, while Manchester did it. I though they would
edge Wolfsburg to a draw, which was enough for them".
"We fought for the victory until the end of the match and I said
at pre-match press-conference that we went to Istanbul only for three
points".
"CSKA rehabilitated in front of our supporters for the failure in
the Russian championship at some extent. Though we understand that achieving
something in the Champions League would be very important for us, it will
something new and special for our fans".
