PAVLYUCHENKO FANCIES BIRMINGHAM SWITCH
Russian wants to stay in Premier League
By Chris Bascombe
ROMAN PAVLYUCHENKO aims to prove Harry Rednapp wrong by snubbing a return
to Russia and joining Birmingham for ?10million.
The out-of-favour Spurs striker has offers on the table from his homeland.
But the prospect of staying in England's Premier League makes St Andrew's
boss Alex McLeish favourite to land him.
Pavlyuchenko believes he has unfinished business down south after being
frozen out under White Hart Lane manager Redknapp.
CSKA Moscow and Zenit St Petersburg have been leading the chase to take
the hitman back home.
Former Rangers gaffer McLeish is determined to get his man this week and
start spending his January windfall from Brum owner Carson Yeung.
