It's snow joke! Arsenal star Andrey Arshavin is amazed
that the English can't cope with the bad weather

Andrey Arshavin admits he is shocked by how badly the English cope with
snow.
The Arsenal striker insists he never experienced a football match being
postponed in Russia and said life would shut down for six months in his
homeland if his compatriots coped in the same way.
Arshavin was having an afternoon nap before the Bolton match earlier this
month, only to be told the game was off.

'I was asleep in a hotel, then phone rang,' he explained.
'I am told that I must go to the Emirates only in order to pick up my
car from the stadium.
'Frankly, it is surprising for me. In Russia we played sometimes in more
extreme conditions, but the game was never cancelled.
'I couldn't even conceive that in England a match would be postponed!'
The 28-year-old is amused by how obsessed his neighbours are with the
weather, but he admitted the cold snap had its benefits.
Arshavin used his extra time off to watch the West End musical Chicago
go on a family visit to Cirque de Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall with
wife Yulia and their two children.

'As for snowfall in England? It's a but little unusual to
see the British, for which the snow was a big problem,' he said. 'It is
all they have been talking about.
'They have great difficulties driving, because snow tires aren't for sales
on the island.
'Every hour on the TV were special news reports about the amount of snowfall
and conditions on the roads.
'On the other hand, I liked to see the snow falling at night, because
I was sure that in the morning I could get behind the wheel without coming
across any traffic jams!
'I told the British that if this happened in Russia - and we had the same
reaction - he life of Russians would be wiped out for six months.
'Perhaps they wonder how we live and work when the temperature dips well
below minus 20.'
