With only one week remaining before the first meeting with
Hapoel, Rubin captain admitted that his team hadn't preparaed for the
two-round battle.
"Pre-season preparations are in full swing now, but we don't think
about Hapoel, as we need to fulfill our program for this training camp",
said Semak. "So when we return to Kazan, we will begin preparing
for our clashes against Israeli side".
"Representatives of our coaching staff have already gone to get video
with Hapoel matches so we have necessary video material, however I repeat
that we don't prepare for Europa League games. We have enough time for
preparations".
"Hapoel is very good team. Having watched information about their
participation in Eurocups and Israeli championship, I wouldn't cal them
dark horse. They have strong players with both veterans and youngsters'.
"This team plays mostly defensive football, but on the other hand
they can beat everyone. Hapoel snatched the first place in the group in
current Europa League season and they played successfully in previous
years too. The club is experienced, so we have equal chances of progress".
"Weather is unpredictable thing and we can wait any kind of surprises
from it. But so far as I heard temperature on the day of our game will
be all right. I am sure that our staff will do their best to prepare the
pitch".
"It's a little bit easier to play the first match of two-round battle
away from the psychological point of view, because after it you perfectly
know which result will be enough at home game to advance to the next stage
of the tournament".
"We haven't played any official matches after Alejandro Dominguez
left Rubin, so it's early to make any conclusions. He is very talented
player and he could solve any episode or even match thanks to his individual
qualities. I think that any team would be glad to have this player in
the squad".
"We will have to change something in our team after his quit, while
our coaches will try to find a replacement for Dominguez. And if they
don't fill in the void, we will need to change our tactics".
