KARPIN: LOKOMOTIV BECAME STRONGER
Spartak head coach Valeriy Karpin talked to Sport
Express ahead of Sunday Moscow derby against Yuriy Semin's Lokomotiv.

"All coaches watch their opponents' performance at
the start of the season", Karpin said. "For example, we watched
both two official matches of Lokomotiv".
"Yuriy Semin's team made good impression on us in their game with
Rubin and it was clear that players are in good form. However they didn't
produce completed impression on us in their match with Krylya Sovetov
because of their competitors' level".
"Loko possess strong players and very much depends on them. At he
same time they have some weak sides, and our task is to use them on Sunday".
"To my mind Lokomotiv became stronger comparing with the previous
season, mainly because Semin had enough time in winter for realization
of his ideas".
"In general nothing special happened in the season's opening games.
Maybe we were a little bit surprised that Rubin grabbed two victories
in matches where both teams demonstrated almost equal football".
"We have already watched games of Lokomotiv, Rubin and CSKA, and
played against Zenit and Dynamo. I think that it's early to lay special
emphasize on any team".
"Maybe I can mention only Rubin, just because they two matches where
it was hard to predict this result".
