"At the press conference I have said that the Russian
Championship will shift to 'autumn-spring' system in the summer of 2012,"
said Fursenko. "And it is not just my desire. This move is to happen
with high possibility."
"The executive committee is to approve this decision at its meeting
at the end of July. There are many pro arguments for the new system not
only in terms of synchronization of the Russian championship with Europe
in European Cups but also in transfer windows."
"There are not only external reasons but also internal like work
with TV rights and advertising market."
"In general we already have a program of this transfer not only concerning
Premier League but First and Second Divisions as well. There are still
some difficulties in this sphere but we are going to solve them in the
near future."
"To carry out the transfer we are planning to hold the next championship
in three rounds and end it up in the summer."
"As for the foreigners' limit discussion it is not over yet but I
can give you some hints on our views on the matter. All young players
from the CIS countries who can in principle play for Russia are not to
be treated as internationals."
"Also those players from CIS will be left out of the limit's rule
who have played not less than 70% of the matches for their national teams.
But this question is not yet decided and this rule can probably be expanded
for other countries as well."
