BUKHAROV: I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE TRANSFER

Rubin Kazan officially confirmed the transfer of the forward Alexandr Bukharov to Zenit. The player yesterday parted with the team and left for Saint Petersburg.

"I cannot tell you anything extraordinary," said the striker about his transfer. "When I learnt about the interest from Zenit I talked to Kurban Berdyev."

"I said that I would take it as a new challenge and if the clubs come to an agreement I would rather try. Rubin gave me a lot but for further progress it is very useful to change the surroundings and move to as ambitious but absolutely different club."

"Zenit started negotiations after the first stage of the championship and both clubs arrived to an agreement before the resumption of the tournament."

"I entered the field for the home match against Krylya Sovetov knowing that I am leaving Kazan. Maybe that is why I played badly. And after the clash against Spartak I parted with the supporters."

"For me it was very difficult. I am thankful to the fans of Rubin for the support I felt for these six years in the club and for the fact that even after bad play I heard no abuses."

"That means that the entire holidays and the training camp I lived with the thoughts of the transfer but it does not imply that that I was training not properly."

"I had different offers other than Zenit's one. But Zenit is stronger than Wolfsburg for example that also showed interest in my services. And moreover Saint Petersburg club had the biggest and objective interest."

"As for the team I think that everything will be ok. In the national team where there are a lot of Zenit men the atmosphere is wonderful and I have good relations with all of them. So I do not think that the same people can behave very differently in the club and national team."

"This is football life - it presupposes moves from one city to another. If I say that I fear nothing I will lie - of course I am worried: there are always difficulties with adaptation."

"But I am coming to Saint Petersburg with big desire to progress and it should help me. And Zenit was rather persistent and that means that the new club needs me. I was told that Luciano Spalletti wanted to see me in his team and trust of a coach is very important."
