Roman Pavlyuchenko's agent Oleg Artemov has given some clarification
on the Russian international's future after the striker had been linked
with a move away from Tottenham Hotspur.
Artemov told Soviet sport: "Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is not
going to let Roman leave the team, he is necessary for Harry Redknapp."
With Tottenham about to make their debut in the Champions League it would
seem Redknapp wants as many options up front as possible and Pavlyuchenko
does not want to miss the opportunity.
"Roman himself does not want to leave England, but if that does happen
he will return to a Russian club.
"We have noted that information appeared regarding the possible departure
of the striker. Among contenders were Sporting Lisbon and Spartak Moscow.
I did not see any movement from Spartacus [Spartak], there were no specifics.
"Interest from both Zenit and Lokomotiv, as was reported in Britain,
was nothing," Atremov said.
