Olympique de Marseille continue to be linked with a myriad of players,
with the latest speculation focused on Tottenham Hotspur forward Roman
Pavlyuchenko.
Luis Fabiano is reportedly being courted by the French side, though the
deal has stuttered over the last 24 hours as OM struggle to come to an
agreement with Sevilla over a transfer fee. Should that move ultimately
break down, Marseille will instead go for Pavlyuchenko, English radio
station Talksport believes.
Didier Deschamps' side are desperately hunting for a striker, and have
been associated with a vast array of players over the last two months.
With Hatem Ben Arfa effectively going on strike and Mamadou Niang poised
to switch to Fenerbahce, their need is greater than ever, especially as
the transfer window only has a couple more weeks to run.
Pavlyuchenko arrived at White Hart Lane as a much vaunted acquisition,
having signed from Spartak Moscow. Yet the 28-year-old has never truly
settled with the north London club, struggling for goals and form, which
means he could well be allowed to leave by manager Harry Redknapp.
